Domain Propagation

About Domain Propagation

A domain's DNS (Domain Name System) converts web URLs (such as www.joonweb.com) into IP addresses (such as 113.211.217.173) used by systems to exchange/transfer data across the internet. In short, DNS matches names with numbers to make websites accessible to your browser.

Domain propagation is the procedure of updating name servers worldwide following any changes to your DNS records. It can take up to 2 days (48 hours) to complete the entire process. During that time, your site may not be accessible from all devices or may appear insecure during this time. After the completion of Domain Propagation, your site will be accessible and secure globally.

Key Things Regarding Domain Propagation:

  • Domain propagation could take up to 48 hours to complete the changes.

  • Your previously connected live site may appear on your domain.
  • You may not receive emails connected associated with your domain.
  • Published changes to your site may take some time to appear on the live site.
  • Your site may not appear correctly in certain browsers until the process is concluded.
  • The SSL certificate will only be issued after the completion of the propagation process.
